Lecturer in Social Demography appointed

Dr Michael Roettger has been appointed as a Lecturer in Social Demography and will join ADSRI in 2015.

He obtained his PhD in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008. He has since worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Center for Family and Marriage Research, Bowling Green State University (2008-2010), as a Research Associate in Institute for Behavioral Science, University of Colorado at Boulder (2010-2012) and as a Research Associate in the Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center, Pennsylvania State University (2012 to present).

He is a social demographer, with active interests in criminology and applied quantitative methods. His research interests are primarily in the area of linking parental incarceration with the health and behavioural risks in children.

Dr Roettger will strengthen the ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences research in demography, criminology and applied social research.
